Fused Quartz Condensers & Laboratory Glassware
Fused quartz condensers, heat exchangers, and lab glassware for high-purity chemical processing, semiconductor manufacturing, and research. Made from ultra-high-purity fused silica with smooth flame-fused transitions, these components deliver excellent chemical inertness, thermal stability, and precise, clean performance in high-temperature and corrosive environments.
What to Provide for a Quote
- Drawing (PDF/STEP) or model of the condenser/glassware
- Type & layout: Liebig / Allihn (bulb) / Graham (coil-in-tube) / Vigreux / Dimroth / jacketed reflux / cold-finger / Soxhlet parts; adapters, receivers, distillation heads
- Tube sizes: OD/ID/lengths; coil diameter & turns (for Graham/Dimroth); jacket OD/ID and effective condensing length
- Connections: ground taper joints (size/standard), ball/socket, hose barbs (size), KF/ISO/CF flanges, threaded ends, or custom adapters
- Ports & orientation: coolant in/out positions, vent/drain, thermometer/pressure port, vacuum take-off angle
- Operating conditions: media, target flow rates, vacuum/allowable pressure, max temperature & thermal cycling, cleanliness level
- Critical tolerances: joint size & fit, concentricity/runout, straightness, bend radius, end-face squareness
- Quantity (prototype or batch), required inspection reports, packaging level
Key Specifications
- Material: High-purity fused quartz (SiO₂); UV-grade fused silica available on request
- Configurations: Straight and jacketed condensers, bulb (Allihn), coil-in-tube (Graham), internal/annular coils (Dimroth), Vigreux fractionating columns, cold fingers, reflux condensers, Soxhlet sets, custom adapters and receivers
- Construction: Precision bending and flame-fused joints; chip-free, polished ends; optional stress-relief annealing
- Connections: Ground taper joints (NS/ISO), ball/socket joints, hose barbs, and vacuum flanges as specified
- Cleanliness: Ultrasonic/DI cleaning; Class-100 compatible packaging
- Service Note: Designed for vacuum or low positive pressure; any pressure rating is design- and test-dependent
Material Properties (Typical)
- Very low thermal expansion and good thermal-shock tolerance
- Excellent chemical resistance to most reagents (note: HF attacks quartz)
- Electrically insulating, low outgassing; high optical clarity
Processing & Design Notes
- Respect feasible minimum bend radius for the selected OD/ID to avoid thinning/stress in coils and U-bends
- Define coolant hose sizes and flow direction; add drain/vent ports to jackets to prevent trapped air and virtual leaks in vacuum duty
- Use generous fillets at junctions and deburred edges to reduce particle generation and micro-cracks
- For fractionating columns (Vigreux/packed), specify packing type/length and support retainers
- Provide straight “landing” legs at joint interfaces for robust sealing; choose joint standard to match your setup
- We can advise practical tolerances for concentricity, straightness, runout, and joint fit based on geometry
Inspection & Testing
- Dimensional verification: tube/jacket sizes, joint sizes, coil diameter & turns, port positions
- Optional tests: helium leak test for jackets/vacuum assemblies; flow/pressure-drop check; hydrostatic hold test per request
- 100% visual inspection for chips, micro-cracks, inclusions, and contamination; optional birefringence/stress report and cleanliness certificate
Applications
High-purity distillation and reflux, solvent condensation/recovery, gas scrubbing and cooling, analytical and pilot-scale setups, semiconductor wet-chem benches and vacuum systems
Packaging & Storage
Port caps and coil protectors; anti-static, vacuum-sealed packaging with shock-absorbent foam and rigid outer protection. Store dry (<40% RH) at 10–30 °C; keep away from HF-containing chemicals.
Notes
Custom configurations (hole patterns, coatings, or additional markings) available upon request.
Compliance certificates (RoHS, ISO 9001) provided with bulk orders.
